Tonight’s UFC 320 event was co-head of a Bantamweight title fight for men with Merab Dvalishvili who took on Cory Sandhagen.
Dvalishvili (21-4 MMA) returned to action for the first time since scoring a submission victory on the former title holder Sean O’Malley during the UFC 316 event of June in New Jersey. That victory had marked the twelfth victory of the machine in a row, a streak that now contains two successful defenses of his Bantamweight title.
In the meantime, Cory Sandhagen (18-6 MMA) was seen the most in the Octagon Last May, where he scored a TKO victory on the former UFC Flyweight Champion Deiveson Figueiredo. That victory was of course preceded by a unanimous loss of decision for Umar Nurmagomedov.
Tonight’s UFC 320-Co-Main event turned out to be a solid back and forth affair. Although Merab Dvalishvili was able to land 18 Takedowns, Cory Sandhagen was able to return his feet within a few cases. ‘The Sandman’ had won the opening round on most fans and analysts scorecards, but it was ‘the machine’ that stormed back to dominate and almost finish the title in round two. Sandhagen eventually survived and despite the fact that he had a tough round three, he came back to demonstrably eliminate Dvalishvili in the fourth round of their fight. In round five, however, Merab was able to strengthen his champion status by nipping Sandhagen and overwhelming the last five minutes. It was again an impressive performance by Dvalishvili, so that fans wondered if there is anyone who can form a legitimate challenge for the champion.

If Sandhagen can put the first three Takedown attempts from Merab in any round, and Merab prevents him from putting him on the fence -I see the success for Sandhagen that is his style fight. # UFC320

Cory has a good strategy here, he gives himself many opportunities that Merab simply has not allowed to take advantage of whether Cory can find a small slip somewhere!
