Prithvi Shaw made a powerful explanation in the Interior Cricket and hit a smooth century for Maharashtra against his former Mumbai team.
Shaw reached his 100 out of 140 balls and dominated the Mumbai-Bowlers in a warm-up competition for the Ranji-Trophy season.
The 25-year-old opener, who made his first-class debut for Mumbai in 2016-17 and earned his test hood in 2017-18, switched to Maharashtra after being confronted with fitness and problems with his old side.
Shaw is now focused on breathing in his career and keeping an eye on BCCI selectors. Shaw’s opening partner, Arshin Kulkarni, impressed by a 150-run beat, so that Maharashtra has put a strong platform.
Shaw eventually fell for 111 of 141 balls, set 14 boundaries and a six, but his century clearly stamped his authority.
This match came after the debut of Shaw for Maharashtra in the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament, where he scored a century against Chhattisgarh, which points to his intention to bounce back in style.
Shaw has represented India in five tests and six odis, but inconsistencies and fitness issues saw him fall from Mumbai’s Ranji team last season.
Now, with Maharashtra, he seems determined to breathe new life into his career and to make a plea for a return to the national side.
