The Tampa Bay rays are now in a strange state of Flux where they win or are swept a series, there is no in between.

By taking two of the three over St. Louis Cardinals this weekend, the rays improved to 63-67 in the season and are still 6.5 games back from the Seattle Mariners in the Wild Card Chase. The rays get an excellent opportunity to catch up with one of the teams for them, because they travel to Cleveland for a three -game series against the Guardians.

An interesting comment, the rays start Ian Seymour for the series opener. When Seymour takes the hill, this is the first time and the first time since 26 September 2024 that the Rays have a left -handed starting pitcher.

The Guardians have a roller coaster of one year. At the beginning of May Cleveland checked the best Wildcard spot. In the following month the team went through some struggles, but it was still bound for the 3rd Wild Card spot on June 22. Then they would endure a 10-game Losing Streak immediately followed by a piece in which they won 11 of 13. The Guardians can be losing back, after they have fallen five in a row and are currently 64-65, 5 games back in the Wildcard-Achtervolging.

In the meantime, the Guardians have had to deal with controversy, because Luis Ortiz and Emmanuel Clase were placed on leave, while MLB is investigating a possible sports betting scandal due to suspicious activity with regard to microbes while the two were on the hill.

Regarding the Guardians who are currently not confronted with possible lifelong forbidden, Jose Ramirez remains one of the best players in all baseball, because he .288/.362/.512 touches with 26 hours and 36 SB, with a 135 WRC+ and Accreing 5. 1 fwar more than 126 games. The 32-year-old Switch-Hitting Third Baseeman now has 54.8 Fwar on his last 10 campaigns. Ramirez is responsible for most of the production of the Guardians, with only two other players on the schedule of the Guardians who are on average above the competition: Kyle Manzardo (114 WRC+ | 1.0 Fwar) & Steven Kwan (101 WRC+ | 2.5 Fwar).

On the hill in front of the Guardians, Gift Smith has received the closer job from Clase and is one of the better relievers in baseball; Smith Actuall leads the pitching of the Guardians in Fwar. It shows what a struggle has been for Cleveland this year when Clase and Ortiz are two of the top five pitchers in Fwar.

The starting pitchers of the Guardians all have very similar total figures this year, whereby no one is currently noticeable the clear AAS. The rays will be confronted with one of the better starters, Tanner Bibee, later tonight.
