Braves News: Hurston Waldrep, Brandon Gaudin, Meer

Well, the Braves wiped the Nationals in a four-game series, which shows that they are still not entirely a soil resident this season, despite all the bad luck and the struggles. They were lucky that their win -streak has not done their lottery position very badly. Although they have almost certainly lost every chance to get the second best chances and 3.0 games back from the third best chances, they retain some separation between the teams “behind” and stay with the fourth best chances. There is a fairly significant drop-off from the fourth best chances to the fifth, and certainly until the seventh, so that would be a good position to stay in for the rest of the season. The next is the Tigers in Detroit, and then the Nationals and Pirates at home, so hopefully they won not much to attract themselves in lottery opportunities (although they could always win the lottery and make it a dispute). It is also worth noting that Drake Baldwin NL Rookie of the Year wins, would probably be a bigger windfall for the design capital of Atlanta than any lottery movement that will probably happen between now and the rest of the season. Last year the Prospect Promotion Incentive Pick ( #28) from the Royals was worth more than the difference between pick #1 and pick #5 in final value.

In the meantime, Hurston Waldrrep had a very encouraging outing, a breakdown from a bad luck but also bad outing against the Astros, while he keeps looking like a promising piece that is moving ahead in the rotation.
