Manchester United will be without four players while making the short journey through the city to see the city in the city later today.

Matheus Cunha, Diogo Dalot and Mason Mount join long -term absent Lisandro Martinez on the treatment table, leaving head coach Ruben Amorim with a selection power on his hands.

Defense

With Andre Onana who completed a loan movement to Trabzonspor this week, the goalkeeper options are Altay Bayindir, Tom Heaton and new signing Senne Lammens. During the press conference, Amorim confirmed before the match that Bayindir would get the nod for today’s game, with Lammens probably a bench option.

Amorim’s first choice back three this season was Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Luke Shaw. However, a away game against a large club can encourage the boss to play slightly more defensive wingbacks. Noussair Mazraoui is available, but Amorim has so far preferred to play it in the middle of the back.

An option can be to replace Patrick Dorgu with Luke Shaw, where Yoro switches to LCB and Mazraoui who arrive at RCB.

Harry Maguire and Ayden Heaven are other central back options, so it is even possible that Mazraoui RWB and Shaw LWB could play, with a Ligt-Maguire-Yoro or Yoro-de Ligt-Heaven back line.

Midfield and attack

The injuries of Mount and Cunha leave a clear gap on the left side of the attack. Bruno Fernandes is likely to rise from central midfield to play the role, although Amad (in the scenario described above) and Josh Zirkzee are other options.

Kobbie Mainoo can also be asked to sit Cunha, but we think he will play in the central midfield next to Casemiro.

Manuel Ugarte is another option in midfield.

Bryan Mbeumo is expected to play on the right side of the attack, with Benjamin Sesko or Zirkzee in the forward position.

Given the thin team, the bank will probably contain some young people, and would look like that: Lammen, Heaton, Maguire, Heaven, Fredricson, Dorgu, Ugarte, Zirkzee and Chido Obi.
