With the 2025-26 season to start in less than a month, the heat were completed their schedule. Earlier in the month, NBA Insiders reported that Miami looked at a possible reunion with a former pick in the first round.
On Wednesday, September 24, NBA Insider Shams Charania announced that the heat is signing precious Achiuwa for a one -year -old deal. The 26-year-old was a first round Pick from Miami in the 2020 NBA design from Memphis. After just one season with the heat to start his career, Precious Achiuwa is a year ago in Miami.

Only a few weeks ago NBA Insider Ira Winderman reported that the heat and precious Achiuwa had mutual interest. Prior to the 2025-26 season, Miami Achiuwa signs for a one-year-old deal. The Veteraancentrum reopens itself with the team that he prepared in 2020. Precious Achiuwa spent a year with the heat. In anticipation of the 2021-22 season, Miami Achiuwa and Goran Dragic traded to the Raptors in exchange for Kyle Lowry.
Precious Achiuwa spent three seasons with the Raptors. He appeared in 153 games and made 40 starts for Toronto, on average 8.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. At the Deadline of 2023-24, the Knicks took over Achiuwa as part of the deal for OG Anunoby. For two seasons, Precious Achiuwa played in 106 games for New York and made 28 starts.

In 2024-25, Achiuwa played in 57 of the 82 games of New York and made 10 starts. He missed the first 21 games of the season due to an injury. Precious Achiuwa was a free agent this season. That was until Sham’s Charania announced that Achiuwa signed a one -year -old deal with the Miami Heat. Achiuwa gets another chance to play for the team that has prepared him. He played in 61 games and made four starts for Miami as Rookie.
The heat is thin at Front Court depth in 2025-26. Signing precious Achiuwa was a way to add depth. Bam AdeBayo and Kel’el Ware are the starting PF and the center for Miami. Rookie Vlad Goldin will probably be the backup center, and now Achiuwa can be their backup PF in 2025-26. Can the Miami Heat come back on the right track after missing the Play -Offs in 2025?
