Porsche Cayenne Electric takes even further screens – Jalopnik

Nowadays it is usual for car manufacturers to show off the interior of a new car well before the unveiling of the model, and that is exactly what Porsche does with the upcoming Cayenne Electric. The company has been releasing information from the Cayenne Electric for months together with photos of camouflaged prototypes, usually recently showing off its wireless charging technology, but now Porsche has sent four images of the interior of the Cayenne EV without any disguise, with many details about what it calls “the Porsche interior of the future.”

Although the general design is an evolution of what we have seen in the existing Cayenne of the third generation and the Macan EV, it takes the curved screens of Porsche even further, with a new type of display in the dashboard with a redesigned operating system, Porsche digital interaction is called. Ivo van Hulten, director of the director experience at Style Porsche, says that the goal of the team was “to create an even more compelling and intense connection between driver and sports car.”

More screen-

Like every new Porsche since the Taycan, there is a curved digital meter cluster, but here it is 14.25-inch OLED display formed as a cartoon house, and there are capacitive buttons on both sides to control things such as the lights, suspension, traction control and surround-view cameras. It looks nice, especially with the piece of trim above it flows into the upper air opening.

The main event is what Porsche calls the power display, another curved OLED screen that would be a rectangular touchscreen in the center console, with a seamless fold in the lower half. The shape is related to what the Maserati Granturismo has, but in that Italian the screens are separated, and it doesn’t look as nice as this one. At the very bottom of the lower part there are always the buttons for temperature and chair climate, plus shortcuts for different apps and the homepage, with a group of widgets for things such as music and navigation above. The upper part of the screen has a large map display in these photos, but it will certainly be adjustable and be able to show many more things.

At the base of the screen there are great looking link switches for fan speed and temperature, and a roll for volume. The raised center console has a large lined section to rest your wrist, and there is a large wireless charger underneath. A 14.9-inch passenger shower screen is optional, with the possibility of streaming video while the car is moving without the driver being able to see, and you can also get an augmented-reality head-up display with an effective size of 87 inch.

More luxurious than ever

Although we have no outside dimensions, the Cayenne Electric is clearly the longest Cayenne, and Porsche uses that extra length (especially in the wheelbase) well. By default, the rear seats are electrically adjustable for the first time, and heating for sections such as the armrests and door panels next to the seats is available – that may sound stupid for you, but heated armrests are really divine in other cars. Not only is the Cayenne Electric ever offered with the largest glass roof of Porsche ever, but the front part is opened, and the whole thing is electrochromic, switches between fully transparent and fully opaque with both 40% and 60% settings in between.

Take advantage of the power display is a theme -app that adjusts the color scheme in all screens, and mood modes adjust the lights, climate, seats and sound system “to help relax and concentration or to further improve the driving experience when using the impressive performance of the car.” The digital key works with both telephones and smartwatches and can be shared with a maximum of seven extra people, and it was ultrawide tire technology to automatically lock or unlock the car when running away or from it, without having to use the device.

More adjustable than ever

Porsche says that the electric Cayenne is the most extensive and individually configurable of the model line. There are 13 different interior color combinations with the launch, with leather colors such as lavender and sage gray, and you can also opt for a leather-free racing-tex interior with Porsche’s classic Pepita textiles. It will also be offered with four different interior packages (not a word about what they are) and five accent packages (the same), plus “A new variety of decorative decorations and accents is also available, which offer different materials and color choices that make perfect coordination possible with the chosen interior color. Contrasting stitching and excluding accent.” Too bad that all the photos of Porsche just show a black interior with pieces of turbonia finish and stitching, although it seems at least as if the interior has nicer contact points than the Macan EV. If that is not enough, the Cayenne EV has many exclusive Porsche Options for Manufaktur, and you can even order a fully adapted one-off creation via the Sonderwunsch Division, something that is not possible with Cayennes.

We do not know exactly when Porsche de Cayenne Electric will reveal, but it must be shown before the end of the year. When the EV is for sale in 2026, it will be on the dealer floors next to the existing internal combustion Cayenne, which will continue at least until 2030 with gas and hybrid engines.
