Former India -Opener Virender Sehwag Remembered how his hands would turn red after catching exercises with ex-India Speedster Yograj Singh during his younger days. Sehwag revealed that Yograj would give catches up close from close by dense neighborhoods, and no one involved in the exercise could raise an objection.
Sehwag said that the players eventually had to ask Yograj to concentrate on others in the camp and to include them in the exercise to get some delay.
“Paaji, please forgive me. But the kind of catches that he gave us at a distance of 15 meters. After taking 10-12 catches, your hands turned red. But you couldn’t say no. So in the end we had to tell him that there are other guys, and you can also give them drills. It’s not only us,” Sehwag said the Levenschraafers with neha.
Yograj, the father of the legendary Indian all -rounder Yuvraj Singh, is known for his strict coaching techniques. He even put his son through heavy practice sessions during his youth days to prepare him for the hardships of international cricket.
Sehwag urges young people to play cricket age group before IPL
The Indian Premier League (IPL) has given players a fantastic platform to show their talent and to sharpen their skills while they are played in addition to some of the best cricketers in the world. Sehwag, however, insisted on young people to play the cricket and domestic tournaments such as the Ranji trophy and the Duleep trophy before they venture into the IPL.
“The key is to play under the age of 19, first-class cricket and then the IPL. It cannot be that you do not play the others, but only play the IPL. The IPL can be a goal, but you have to play other tournaments such as Under-19S, Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy, and then you can get a chance in the IPL,” he said.
Sehwag withdrew from all forms of cricket on October 20, 2015. The cricket player-mind-commentator played 104 tests, 251 ODIs and 19 T20Is, which collected 17,253 runs about formats.
