Smith Entertainment Group (SEG), a sports, entertainment, real estate and technology investment group of Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith, based in Utah, is planning to build a new location for concerts and other events in the center of Salt Lake City as part of the “Entertainment”.
Jazz, mammoth owners work together with Live Nation Entertainment
SEG, which is also the owner of the NHL’s Utah Mammoth, announced on Tuesday that it cooperates with Live Nation Entertainment to build an ultramodern facility.
SEG expects it will have around 6,000 seats, and the group says it will organize around 200 events every year, including 100 concerts.
“Both SEG and Live Nation will commit significant financial investments in the development of this location,” said Seg CEO Ryan Smith.
“This is the first of many announcements while we continue to work on attracting the best and most influential brands in the world to invest in our state.”
According to Spencer Burt From Fox 13 Salt Lake City, SEG said the location will be built in the 6.5 -hectare middle block area between the Delta Center and the Salt Palace Convention Center. The group said it is planning to start the existing structures on that site on that site in early 2027.
“We have seen that it has had incredible impact hockey at the center, bringing hundreds of thousands of more people to the city and causing astonishing economic growth for companies in the city center,” Smith added.

“Many artists can play arenas. Some can play 200 seats. But there is a large middle road where they cannot sell the Arena completely out of 15,000 – so they want to find that location of 5,000 or 6,000. So it opens a whole new Avenue of Artists,” said Live Nation CEO Rapino.
Earlier this year, Salt Lake County approved the sale of a large plot of the Salt Palace Convention Center to SEG good for $ 55.4 million.
SEG announced that the renovation plans of Delta Center will include a contribution of $ 525 million from Salt Lake City that is financed by an increase in sales tax of 0.5% approved by the city council.
Phase one of the renovation of the Delta Center started after Jazz and Mammoth ended their respective seasons in April. The project is currently aimed at a retractable seating system in the lower bowl.
SEG said that the Delta Center will continue to organize larger capacity concerts of up to 19,000 attendees.
