Playmaker claims he is very happy after leaving West Ham

West Ham United midfielder Guido Rodríguez has expressed his excitement after arriving in Spain to complete his transfer to Valencia.

The 31-year-old, who joined West Ham last summer, is now on the verge of completing a short-term contract that will keep him at Mestalla until the end of the season.

Valencia have been in negotiations with West Ham for weeks and are trying to secure Rodríguez as part of the January reshuffle.

Rodríguez confirmed his joy upon arrival and told El Chiringuito TV, as reported by Indoor football:

“I am very happy. Valencia is a very big club. I have spoken to them.” [Carlos] Corberan.”

The Argentine midfielder will join Valencia who are desperate for stability.

The club is embroiled in a tight relegation battle, sitting just four points above 18th-placed Alavés and having recorded just five wins in 21 league matches.

With creativity and balance lacking in midfield throughout the campaign, Rodríguez is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the backbone of the team.

West Ham were active in the market in January, bringing in Pablo and Taty Castellanos to strengthen their attack.

Nuno Espirito Santo is determined to reshape the squad and add experienced, disciplined players capable of handling the pressure of a relegation fight.

Rodríguez’s departure creates valuable team space and reduces the wage bill, creating room for targeted reinforcements.

The Hammers have been linked with several options in midfield and attack, and offloading fringe players has become essential to their strategy.

Rodríguez had also attracted interest from elsewhere. Grêmio made inquiries as part of their efforts to strengthen their midfield ranks, while reports in Italy suggested Juventus were considering a loan offer.

However, Valencia acted decisively and were able to satisfy both the Hammers and the player, now putting Rodríguez at the heart of their survival mission.
