The goalkeeper of Manchester United Phallon Tullis-Joyce praised her defenders for their efforts to secure a point against Arsenal.
United protects a point against Arsenal
In the match against Arsenal, United went into cheerfulness after sealing a historic qualification in the competition phase of the Champions League 2025/26.
Just like United, Arsenal had a 100% record in the WSL, but the two parties had to share the loot in Leigh Sports Village.
The will of Ella Toone, Melvine Malard, Jess Park and Julia Zigiotti Olme all had sights, but they could not fully find the back of the net.
Marc Skinner’s side limited Arsenal to just one shot on goal. Tullis-Joyce was tested a few times, but she was in the task every time.
The result is United in second place in the WSL table, two points below the competition leaders Chelsea and just above Arsenal about target difference.
After the last whistle, Tullis-Joyce spoke against In TVPrices her defensive quartet, Celin Bizet, Maya le Tissier, Dominique Janssen and Anna Sandberg, for their performance.
Tullis-Joyce gives a statement about the game
“Absolutely, I think that was a great result for our team. Of course there is more that we can do, but I am so proud of these games that we have had. Great performance of both teams and I am excited to see where we can take that.”
When asked about limiting Arsenal to just one shot on goal, even though they had a full week of rest, Tullis-Joyce replied: “Very impressive.”
“And that’s just our backline there. They had an excellent game.”
“Everyone too, everyone beat it today. We knew what to do and we saw that on the field.”
When he was appointed player of the game and making a decisive salvation that ensured that United achieved at least one point, Tullis-Joyce noted: “Go down, play it. Double bonus. I will take the goal post against Arsenal.”
During the meeting of the following weekend with Liverpool, Tullis-Jouce said: “A moment to breathe and then go back in immediately, because there is no rest in the WSL.”
“We know how important this next game is.”
The United goalkeeper paid tribute to the supporters after a record audience in Leigh Sports Village turned out to be for the collision.
“They are always incredible. Our supporters are just absolutely great and we appreciate them so much, even the people who look online. We appreciate your support and we feel it. We are sure.
