HOLLYWOOD, FL – After a bit of a resort with colleague Bellator -Alum Dalton Rosta, it is Fabian Edwards who was still at the end of PFL Hollywood and claimed at the PFL World Tournament Middle Weight Championship.
A belt, half a million dollars and bragging. Edwards ended the fight in style and hit Rosta with a main kick in the third round.
It was Shades of Fabian’s brother Leon, who welcomed Kamaru Usman almost three years ago to the day of the day to win Welterweight Gold.
“Told Ya. I told you,” said a cheerful, Fabian Edwards shone after the fight. “It’s crazy. Three years, the same main kick. It’s crazy. It’s crazy. I can’t believe it. Well, I can, because I saw that Dalton had the tendency to pull, and it landed beautifully.”
The beef between the couple, including Edwards who accused his opponent of using performance -improving medicines, has now been brought into peace, he told media including Cageside Press after the event.
“If you disable such a person, there is nothing you can say. It was not a split decision. I took it out, so all the beef is crushed on my side.”
Vooruit is probably a fight with Costello from Steenis, who defeated Bellator Middle Weight Champion Johnny Eeblen to catch what the PFL Champions Series World Title is.
“I am a world champion and he is a world champion. Every time we are fighting, it is about bringing this together,” noted Edwards, who sees Saturday’s victory as more than just a tournament defense. “I don’t see myself as a tournament winner or whatever. This is the world championship. I defeated three of the best guys in the tournament, and that’s it.”
Anyway, Edwards expects more big things that are coming.
“I am 32. I started this sport when I was 22, and I still have the feeling that I have so many years, and so many things to achieve, and many more large versions come. And I look forward to it.”
