Wattsburg Pa – The Pennsylvania Fair circuit started its busiest part of the entire summer with an honest father’s meeting on Saturday and Sunday at the Erie County Fairgrounds in this town in the distant corner of Pennsylvania.
The two-year-olds started the Harness Racing promotion on Saturday and the fastest artists on both the trot and the pace were mares. The fastest of all first -year students, the Dear Lou – Takara Rose Sidwheeling Miss Vegas Queen, was certainly not a surprise if the Standardsetter – she had won two of her three PafsStarts and she came from a great 1:53 victory in the Meadows. In Wattsburg her 2: 05.1 victory for driver Chris Shaw, trainer Neil Balcerak, and owner George Prushnok continued her current sharp form.
Of the former performance lines, it was probably more difficult to predict who would be the fastest trotter of the day, with the Cantab Hall – BWT Maija Distaff Sueeta break her girl in a 2: 07.3 Day’s Best for Trainer/Driver Steve Schoeffel and The Partnership of 518 Group LLC, Ryan Smith and John Schlabach. But students from the Family tree may have remembered that sixteen years ago BWT Maija had produced Pilgrim’s Taj ($ 996,748), so the potential was deep in the bloodlines.
While racing Sunday for three -year -olds, it proved that mares were also the fastest on both courses. Fastest of everything was the Heston Blue Chip Filly d’Applesrsweet, who was missing a divisite rac with two fifth before the second straight outing her 1:58 at Clearfield just shy from the 22-year-old Mark of my Gal Phyl, and in Wattsburg her 2:01 Triumph was just a shortage of the 12-year-old standard with the same marge with the same marge. D’Applesrsweet, powered by James Dodson for trainer Ron Lineweaver and owner Steve Wetzel, can soon offer an interesting matchup with Milagro, the Fair Champion 2024 in Stakes Record Time, who wins five straight “A” in 2025 after a 2:03 Tally.
Remarkable winners among the Pacing Colts were not B Blue (2: 01.2) for his third consecutive honest victory and compensate me (2: 03.1), a winner of the Double Stallion series and from the barn of the ubousic-dominant Ron Burke.
The fastest Wattsburg Trot winner was the Cantab Hall Filly Classy Cocktail, a 10-time winner on two and a Wattsburg winner in 2: 04.4. The fastest troubling man was the Greenshoe Velding Lionheart Hanover, the Fair Champion 2024 who recorded his fifth “A” victory in 2: 05.3.
The white hot team Tony / Linda, driver Tony Damage and Trainer-Vrouw Linda, continued their shaped way with four winners on Saturday and five on Sunday (including both fast trotters that are just mentioned above) to build a good lead in the seasonal classification. Of their nine wins in Wattsburg, they share the property of each of the winners.
The Trotters and Pacers then continue to the Wayne County Fair in Honsdale PA, 317 Mijl further in the far northeast corner of Pennsylvania, with two -year -old set for 3 pm on Wednesday and three -year -olds who go on the circuit on Thursday after drawing on Monday. In total, the Fair Sire Stakes will make nine stops in the month of August. More information can be found on the website of the Fair Horsemen’s Association, www.pafairsracing.org.
