The modest advertisements because the elevator building boasted the “ideal location” and amenities such as incinerators and electric refrigerators.
Inside the apartment, a small foyer with walk-in closet has an arched opening to the living space. The spacious room still has its wall moldings and wooden floors; Recessed lighting and the expanded kitchen are new. A peninsula juts out into the living room with space for seating on one side and under-counter appliances on the other.
The kitchen itself is windowed and narrow, with white cabinets, a stainless steel countertop and open shelving. The appliances are small and suit the space, with a small hob, but there is still a dishwasher.
The bedroom, which is large enough for a king bed, is off the foyer and has two closets, two windows, wall moldings, picture rails and a wood floor.
All-white finishes fill the bathroom, from the modern wall-mounted sink to the wall and floor tile.
The building has a laundry facility, a live-in super and storage. There is also a “liberal” subletting policy once owners have occupied their apartment for two years, the advertisement said. The maintenance for this device is $962 per month.
