Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 Le Havre: Comfortable win sends Luis Enrique’s side to Ligue 1 summit – Football News

Paris Saint-Germain returned to the Ligue 1 summit after goals from Lee Kang-In, Joao Neves and Bradley Barcola confirmed a 3-0 win over Le Havre at the Parc des Princes.

Having ceded top spot to Marseille following their 5-1 thrashing of Nice on Friday, the defending champions put in a fine performance in an end-to-end encounter.

PSG survived the scare in the 25th minute when Issa Soumare’s deflected cutback looked destined to find the net, but Lucas Chevalier was on hand to clear the ball to safety.

And Luis Enrique’s side took full advantage of that delay four minutes later when Nuno Mendes’ cross was tucked in by Lee Kang-In at Mory Diaw’s near post.

The Parisiens continued to press for another second, with Goncalo Ramos forcing the visiting goalkeeper Diaw into two smart stops, although Le Havre had plenty of chances of their own.

Soumare’s shot from a tight angle sent ripples through the side netting, with Le Havre’s joint top scorer having previously kept Chevalier on his toes.

But PSG dominated after the restart and were rewarded when Neves drilled the ball home via the post in the 65th minute after Barcola had been denied twice in the penalty area.

And the victory was sealed three minutes from time when impactful substitute Barcola picked out the bottom left corner after collecting Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s pass.

Data debrief: Parisiens bounce back on home soil

After suffering their first home defeat in all competitions to Bayern Munich in the Champions League in 2025/26, PSG returned to the French capital with their bit between their teeth, and they have certainly made a statement of intent here.

They registered an expected goals (xG) total of 3.49 from their 31 goal attempts, and might have scored more if not for Diaw, who made eight saves in the match, although Le Havre’s goalkeeper could do nothing to stop the hosts’ goals.

And one of those finishes came from the boot of the in-form Neves. Of the midfielders from Europe’s top five leagues in all competitions, only Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise and Nice’s Sofiane Diop (both six) have scored more goals this season than the Portugal international (five).

But Luis Enrique’s side were equally impressive defensively. PSG has now kept five clean sheets in six home games in Ligue 1 this season, already surpassing the tally of 17 games at the Parc des Princes in 2024/25.
