After beating Hull City in the FA Cup last weekend to progress in the domestic knockout competition, Chelsea return to Premier League action tomorrow at 3pm local time when they face Burnley on matchday 27 at Stamford Bridge.
Liam Rosenior’s men have done a great job under him in the English top flight so far and have emerged as contenders for the Champions League places, but after a draw in their last league match they will look to take all three points this time.
That said, here’s how the Blues are expected to perform against the Clarets.
Goalkeeper – Robert Sánchez is expected to continue playing between the sticks for the hosts after his FA Cup match.
Defenders – Reece James could be chosen at right-back again, while Marc Cucurella’s injury could open the door for Jorrel Hato to also keep his place on the left of the back four. Meanwhile, Wesley Fofana could also keep his place in the team, with Trevoh Chalobah as his partner in the center of defence.
Fernandez, Palmer and Pedro start
Midfielders – Andrey Santos is expected to return to the bench for the match against Burnley as Chelsea could welcome Enzo Fernandez to the starting XI. The Argentina international could be deployed alongside Moises Caicedo in the double pivot, while Cole Palmer could also return to the team as number 10.
Estevao Willian is also likely to start on the right flank, while last weekend’s hat-trick hero, Pedro Neto, could be deployed on the left flank this time.
Come on – Joao Pedro is expected to replace Liam Delap as the sole striker for the home side.
