Following the announcement of UFC 324, Paddy Pimblett is in good spirits. Pimblett will face Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight strap in Ilia Topuria’s absence when the promotion debuts Jan. 24 on Paramount+.
But the Brit is thinking much further than UFC 324 and has more ambitious intentions. He recently discussed his ambitions in an interview, explaining his big plans once he takes the interim title by getting past ‘The Highlight’.
Dana White has made it clear that the winner of the Gaethje vs. Pimblett fight will fight Topuria in a unification fight once ‘El Matador’ returns.
‘The Baddy’ has his sights on Topuria once he defeats Gaethje. He wants the undisputed belt, then he wants to defend his belt against Arman Tsarukyan. In a recent interview he said:
“2026 will be the biggest year of my life. I’m coming for that interim title, and then I’ll make it an undisputed title when I come and beat Ilia Topuria. Then little fancy boy [Arman]If he manages to fight during that time because he likes to sit outside and says he has a sore back… then I’ll bash his head in too.’

Paddy Pimblett trolls Arman Tsarukyan
Despite being the number one ranked UFC lightweight prospect, Arman Tsarukyan was not booked for the interim lightweight title fight at UFC 324, and he won’t be getting a title shot anytime soon. Tsarukyan has consistently stated that he deserves the title title more than anyone.
But after Dana White’s announcement of UFC 324, Paddy Pimblett mocked Tsarukyan by posting on X:
“Do you like apples? @ArmanUfc ππ€£”

Ariel Helwani and many other MMA journalists have done that questioned the UFC’s recent matchmaking. Helwani also asked the UFC what else Tsarukyan needs to do to get a title shot.
