In Arman Tsarukyan’s latest eating video, Nina-Marie Daniele made a comment that appears to be aimed at the UFC matchmakers.
Ahalkalakets’ recently defended his number one spot as a lightweight contender after submitting Dan Hooker in the second round at UFC Qatar. However, his wish to fight for the title and face Ilia Topuria will not be fulfilled anytime soon as Topuria has taken a break from fighting and will not return in the first quarter of 2026 due to personal reasons.
The UFC, on the other hand, has announced its first numbered event for the next calendar year, when the promotion debuts on Paramount+. The UFC324 headliner will see Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje battle it out for the interim lightweight strap.
Despite not getting a title shot like he wanted and deserved, Tsarukyan is enjoying his life, training and food. He recently posted one of his eating videos and captioned it:
“Light dinner tonight?”

Nina-Marie Daniele made a rather veiled joke to the matchmakers for scheduling Gaethje against Pimblett without considering Tsarukyan’s ranking. She responded to the message:

Arman Tsarukyan reacts after Dana White announces UFC 324
Arman Tsarukyan wanted to fight for the title in 2026 and had urged the UFC to send him a contract so he could fight in January 2026. After White Justin Gaethje vs. Paddy Pimblett had announced, Tsarukyan responded via a message on X:
“make it meaningful 🤦🏻♂️”

White also reconfirmed that the winner of the UFC 324 headliner will meet Ilia Topuria in a unification bout later this year, meaning ‘Ahalkalakets’ will have to wait months for a title shot.
The UFC’s new wave of matchmaking has therefore been questioned and attacked by several athletes, experts and journalists, as it now seems more focused on making money than merit.
