Paddy Pimblett feels he got more credit for losing UFC 324 than for his wins: ‘It’s crazy’

Paddy Pimblett feels more love in his one UFC loss than he does for his seven wins under the promotion.

Pimblett competed in the interim UFC Lightweight Championship in January. Opposite “The Baddy” was Justin Gaethje. The two delivered fireworks for UFC’s debut on Paramount+. Ultimately, it was Gaethje who found more success en route to a unanimous decision victory.

Pimblett filmed himself rewatching the fight in front of him YouTube channel. “The Baddy” had already seen the fight once, but he wanted to share his thoughts on a second watch. Pimblett admitted he did not expect to receive as much praise as he did in defeat.

“Even though I lost, boy, it’s a very entertaining fight to watch,” Pimblett said. “Everyone has been telling me how entertaining it was and how much they love the fight and the heart I showed and everything. It’s crazy because I feel like I get more credit for losing this fight than I do for all seven UFC wins.”

Pimblett recently said he suffered no major injuries in the fight with Gaethje. He said the worst damage was a scratched cornea. “The Baddy” expects a summer return to the Octagon.

While Pimblett had hoped to settle his feud with UFC Lightweight Champion Ilia Topuria, he will have to wait for another time. The former Cage Warriors featherweight titleholder will have to get back to his winning ways if he expects to be paired with Topuria anytime soon.

Topuria and Gaethje are now set for a fight to reunite the title. While there is no word on a timetable for the fight, Topuria has seemingly ended his hiatus after resolving some personal issues.
