Ozzie Albies suffers from Hamate Fracture

The Braves are affected with another significant injury. Ozzie Albies was diagnosed with a broken hamate bone in his left/wrist (passed by by Mark Bowman from MLB.com). The second Honkman seemed to suffer the injury during a winding strike in the third inning of tonight’s game. He took the next throw before he called and left a trainer.

Albies broke the same wrist during a tag game in July. He was out of operation for two months and only achieved a return in the late season before the short play-off run of Atlanta. This of course costs him the last five games of a losing season. The much greater care is that he has suffered comparable significant injuries in consecutive years. It will probably have some effect on at least the early stages of its low season.

Hamate fractures usually cost about two months. If Albies requires a similar timeline, it would give him enough time to be ready for spring training. However, it is not uncommon for the power production of a batter to drop after a broken wrist, but raise more questions about what Atlanta can expect from a player whose figures have decreased in the past two seasons.

Albies ends the season with a career-slightest .240/.306/.365 battle line. He picked up 16 gays and went 14-17 for stolen basic areas. Albies leads second base men with 667 record appearances. He had been very sustainable this season, but he did not hit the ball with much authority until the past few weeks. He hit .220/.290/.316 in the first half. Albies had a better representation of the piece and .270/.328/.439 after the All-Star break. He will try to prevent an equally slow start when he returns from another late season injury.

The Braves will have consecutive $ 7mm club options on Albies for the next two years. The first of these comes with a buy -out of $ 4 mm. That should still be a very easy call for the Front Office to practice. The difference of $ 3 mm is the same as what utility programs/depth players like Kyle -BoerThairo RoadJosh Rojas And Kevin Newman The order as free agents last season.

Albies’ injury contributes to a handful of questions under the Atlanta. Ha-Song Kim Seems to make its way to unsubscribe from his $ 16mm contract. If he does, the Braves should find an upgrade Nick Allen At shortstop. They would probably make an attempt to bring Kim back for a multi -year deal in that scenario. Austin Riley Comes back from the core surgery. Nacho Alvarez Jr. has not shown much consistency in his first real run as an everyday third baseman in the absence of Riley.
