The couple shared the happy news in a short video of them hugging and smiling as they revealed a small tennis racket and a Wimbledon baby romper:

I took a little break to reset and recharge… Turns out we’ve planned the best comeback ever. The court will have to wait a little longer, because soon… we will welcome our smallest teammate.

The revelation has special emotional significance for Jabeur, who lost back-to-back Wimbledon finals in 2022 and 2023. After the second loss, she talked about how deeply it affected her both professionally and personally.

Being a female athlete comes with a unique set of challenges, and putting your career on hold to become a mother is one of them. Many tennis players have successfully returned to the professional circuit after giving birth, but the journey is difficult and unpredictable.

It was, I think, the hardest loss of my career because it devastated me emotionally. It was the tournament where I said, ‘Okay, I feel like I’m going to win it. I’m going to win it and then maybe I can take a break and have a baby.’ So not only not winning Wimbledon, but also like the idea of having a baby just disappeared with the Wimbledon trophy. I was haunted by fear, by panic attacks.

In July 2025, Jabeur announced a break from tennis, explaining that after two years of injuries and challenges, she no longer felt truly happy on the court. The pregnancy news now adds a heartwarming twist to her story and brings happiness after a time of struggle.
