Disappointing news for two of the biggest stars in USA Gymnastics. After inconsistent versions at the US Gymnastics Championships of the Week, Olympic medal winners Stephen Nedoroscik and Frederick Richard remained left of the team for the upcoming world championships 2025.

Nedoroscik and Richard reached the headlines during the Olympic Games in Paris, where the two striking performances deliver to Team USA to the bronze medal in – the first medal for our gymnastics for the American gentlemen in 16 years.

In the past few days, the couple competed alongside their American teammates on the 2025 Xfinity US National Gymnastics Championships in New Orleans. The competition ended on Saturday evening, with their Olympic teammate Asher Hong who secured his second all-round title.

Due to the superior difficulty values of his skills on Kluis, Hong achieved an automatic offer to compete in the Artistic Gymnastics world championships in Jakarta, Indonesia. USA Gymnastics Officials then selected five extra athletes to accompany Hong in Jakarta this fall.

With the event that functions as an individual world championships without a team competition, the selection committee concentrated on the individual medal epotential on the six devices.

American Gymnastics Formally announced The team on X at 11:48 PM et. Hong would be accompanied by Olympic teammate Brody Malone, world medal winner Donnell Whittenburg and first world team members Kameron Nelson, Brandon Dang and Patty Hoopes.

At the same time, the two remaining Olympians learned that their medal home at the world championship before 2025 had been demolished.

What went wrong for Nedoroscik

Nedoroscik, who only competes on the pommel horse, struggled considerably at his only event at the championships of this week, downgrade his routine on the night one and fell from the horse on night two.

Although the gymnast-made celebrity is both a world champion and an Olympic bronze medal winner at his characteristic event, his efforts would not be enough. ‘De Pommel Horse Guy’ had to finish in the top three to be eligible for selection, accepted his fate and broke in a smile as he fell out of the device.

What went wrong for Richard

Conversely, Fred Richard is an all-round gymnast of world class, which has qualified for the final in Paris and winning a historic bronze medal at the 2023 world championships.

On the way to this week’s American championships, Richard expressed his intention to concentrate on his all-round potential, hoping to peak at the world championships later this year.

Struggling, however, inhibited his goal on the night. Richard stumbled through the majority of his landings and tumbled to a distant fourth place – almost six full points of the first. Night two would be a tough fight.

Richard looked considerably sharper on the second and last day of competition. While the rising Asher Hong was out of reach, Richard fought his way to the silver medal in the all -round. The global medal winner seemed satisfied with his efforts mastine seems like a top-two National Finisher an obvious choice for a world team.

Hong’s victory over Richard, however, was the largest because of every gymnast – male or female – in the history of American gymnastics. This shortage, in combination with the individual structure of the world championships, led to an unfavorable circumstance and results.

Despite missing the world team, Richard was appointed as the American national team, which made him eligible for international assignments. Just like Nedoroscik, Richard was honored with an organization prize and he acknowledged him as the 2025 Sportsperson of the Year.
