Olivier Giroud is the latest former Chelsea player to talk common sense – opinion – Talk Chelsea

This list is so long that I actually forgot the total number of names added to it.

All I know at this point is that Olivier Giroud has now joined a VERY long list that includes John Terry, John Obi Mikel, Frank Lampard, Pat Neven and Joe Cole, to name a few. I’m pretty sure we can now field an incredible starting Xl from this list of former Chelsea players who know exactly what they’re talking about.

And now we add Giroud to this team to lead the attack. I’ve always loved Giroud!

I am of course talking about former Chelsea players who have said that what this current side has been missing in recent seasons is EXPERIENCE. To me it has always been a fact and not even an opinion; it’s just common sense.

Giroud, who was on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports earlier this week, said:

“I like Delap a lot. If the team is in place and with a little time, I think he can be the type of striker who can get the job done.”

“I think Enzo Maresca is doing well so far, he is fourth in the rankings and they won their last match.

“I have seen them perform in the Club World Cup, a competition I played with LAFC. I am really impressed with this team.

“But to be honest, when you have so many young players in the room, it’s a bit of a different period than when I was there before. They’re doing great, but I think they still need some time to challenge for the title.”

“Maresca needs a striker who is consistent and more experienced in the team. There is a lot of young player.”

Well said, Oli, well said… Oh, and welcome to my team of elites.
