Thomas Frank watched as his Spurs team were dominated by Newcastle United.
United eventually won 2-1.
Thomas Frank admits after the latest Spurs defeat: “Of course it would have been better…”
Spurs have still won just one home game in the Premier League since the opening day of the season.
Thomas Franks explains: “It really hurts that we couldn’t win today. I see a team running and fighting with everything they have. They give everything in a difficult and difficult situation.”
All you can say is if that was the Spurs team that cared “everything”then they are really in trouble.
Newcastle United absolutely battered them and it could and should have been a winning margin of at least three goals for Eddie Howe and his players.
In any case, the Spurs boss admits: “Newcastle are making it difficult for us, we have a transition in one direction and then they go the other way, we defend poorly and concede the second. [winning] goal.”
Last season Spurs finished in fourth place, now they are in fifth place and just five points away from relegation.
Thomas Frank does not make an excuse out of injuries, BUT makes an excuse out of injuries: “We have players with injuries and a suspension and then after half an hour another injury, that doesn’t help 100%. I’ve never complained, it’s what I have at my disposal.”
