Jessica Tisch, the NYPD commissioner and the descendant of one of the richest families of New York, has sold her duplex cooperative in the Upper East Side for $ 10.5 million, a hairstyle of the original demand but still a healthy profit of the purchase price.
The sale of the spread of 4,000 square feet on Nine East 79th Street was closed on 12 August, according to city registers cited by Crain’s. Tisch and her husband, venture capitalist Dan Levine, mentioned the pre -war four bedrooms for $ 13 million for the first time last March, ultimately, about a 20 percent discount on the demand to get it done.
The deal breaks down to $ 2,625 per square foot. The couple bought the unit in 2011 for $ 8 million from the parents of Tisch, James and Merryl, who the family behind Loews Corp. represent and represent.
The buyer is Jonathan Berger, co-founder and chief executive officer of TP Birch Grove, a Hudson Yards-based investment arm of the Dan Loeb hedge fund, which manages around $ 12 billion. Berger paid cash, according to records.
The duplex is supplied with a view of the central park, a formal dining room, a gas fireplace and five and a half bath. But even for family tree cooperatives at Prime UES locations, ambitious prizes has reached reality in the past year. Buyers with a deep bag are still active, but willing to wait for sellers who cling to peak numbers.
Tisch, 43, spent her career in the city council and moved last year from sanitary commissioner under Mayor Eric Adams to NYPD Commissioner, where she supervises 36,000 officers. Her term of office has already led to headlines, including the launch of “Q-teams” that focus on quality of life, a return to the police work of broken Windows that critics warn that critics can disproportionately influence the communities of minorities.
It is not clear where they and Levine then go. Corcoran’s Deborah Grubman, David Adler and Paul Albano had the list.
The cooperative is not far from Victor Sigoura’s 109 East 79th Street, who recently scored a contract for an apartment from the 16th floor in which slightly less than $ 35 million was requested.
