North Queensland Cowboys sponsor Griffin Neame scored two big wins last week, scoring a new contract and receiving the keys to his new investment property in Cairns.

The 24-year-old bought the plot of land in the brand new The Palms Estate on Kewarra Beach for $362,500 on August 24, and received the keys to the completed home which was built last Friday by local company Bluewater Builders.

The Kewarra Beach house was listed for rent on November 1 for $825 per week.

“This property is located in the brand new The Palms Estate (which is known for its opulence on both a community and real estate level,” says the Ispire Real Estate listing.

It has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a modern kitchen, a separate and spacious living and dining room, a media room and a fully enclosed garden.

It is Neame’s second real estate purchase.

His Townsville property was purchased in 2022 for $540,000.

Last Friday it was announced that Neame’s contract with the Cowboys has been extended until the end of the 2029 season.

“This is a very important signing for the club,” Cowboys general manager Michel Luck said.

“This extension is a sign that our club sees Griffin as one of the leaders of our attacking pack moving into the future.”

Neame said he was thrilled to remain in North Queensland, who, like a number of other high-profile players and coaches, has seen the value of the North Queensland and Far North Queensland property market.

He worked with PRPTY360 founder Julian Fadini to secure the sale of the Kewarra Beack lot and the construction of the house.

Fadini’s clients include Brisbane Broncos coach Michael “Madge” Maguire, Manly Sea Eagles prop Toafofoa Sipley and Wests Tigers second rower Isaiah Papali’i.

Other big names in the Cairns region who have also worked with Fadini include St George Illawarra Dragons NRLW halfback Zali Hopkins and Wests Tigers center Starford To’a.

Hopkins purchased a $228,000 plot of land on postcard-perfect Trinity Beach in 2021 and built a new home on the block.

It was first offered for rent for $670 per week in August 2023, and again in July.

Fadini said he worked with many athletes who wanted to invest in real estate.

“What I like about Griff is that he is so loyal,” Fadini said.

“He brought some Cowboy jerseys for the guys who built the house.”

Fadini said he was overwhelmed by the support for the Cowboys across the region.

“Griff really believes the Cowboys have a chance to go all the way to the grand final,” Fadini said.

“He loves North Queensland and North Queensland loves him.”

Fadini said Cairns’ northern beaches were a special place.

“It’s something different,” he said.

“A lot of people don’t realize that there is a high-end market in Cairns, a sector of the market that you don’t really see in other regional cities.

“It’s a great place for both owner-occupiers and investors, with Palm Cove close by, the marina.

“It’s just breathtaking.”
