Corners and free kicks will be fun for Newcastle United this season.
With Nick Woltemade, Big Dan Burn and Sven Botman who pops up the field for a corner, it will be like the tanks in an old war film in the village square.
Teams must draw up small white flags for their defenders.
A side issue on corners …
I can never understand why players take those corners so much time and effort to try to get the ball as close as possible to be outside the cornerworing quadrant when the advantage is negligible. You know what I mean, where the official floats over the ball and looks straight down to ensure that the edge of the ball is still vertically over a part of the white line!
Just for a change, I would like to see the player doing the same, but with the ball on the other side of the goal line, so it seems that he is outside the game.
Now that would mess with the keeper’s head!

I am not the vengeful type, so I am happy that both Wilson and Isak want the best with their new clubs.
And of course the same goes to Jamal Lewis, Sean Longstaff, Isaac Hayden and Martin Dubravka.
Especially Martin Dubravka, who I think should still be our number one choice in the nets.
And while I’m busy, congratulations on Elliot Anderson and then Burn on their selection of England.
International breaks
There was not so long ago that I thought the length of international breaks should be reduced.
If your name is Chelsea, or Man City and you have a team that almost completely consists of international players, think of the international breaks such as a FA handicapping system that gives the rest of us the chance to catch up while you recover players.
Strangely enough, I don’t think in the same way now that Newcastle United can make a whole team of current internationals.
