Tino Livramento had to leave the field due to an injury during the FA Cup victory over Bournemouth on Saturday.
The defender cut in on the left and gave Lewis Hall a shift off.
However, Hall had to replace his United and England teammate in the 59th minute.
It appeared to be a serious hamstring injury when Tino Livramento limped.
Now a major update has emerged on Tuesday, announcing how long the former Southampton player will be out.
Keith Downie covers Newcastle United for Sky Sports and he has reported that Tino Livramento had a scan on Monday and the club have the results.
Downie states that Tino is now expected to be out for about eight weeks.
The Sky Sports man adds that this could mean Tino Livramento will have to miss up to fifteen games.
Keith Downie He adds that he understands Fabian Schar is expected to be out for three months after picking up an injury in the win over Leeds.
There will be an international break in about ten weeks, which will come after the weekend of Saturday, March 21, 2026.
That weekend Newcastle play Sunderland in the Premier League, but if United get past Manchester City in the semi-finals they will be in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, March 22.
The Sky Sports man says that with these two injuries: “Newcastle United are considering whether to enter the transfer market for a defender and there is a decent chance [that they will do].”
