England Fast Bowler Mark Wood has admitted that bowling for Rishabh Pant is one of the most difficult challenges in the world cricket and the Indian Wicketkeeper-Batter calls every Bowler’s Nightmare ‘.

On the stick to the cricket podcast, Wood explained how Pant’s ability to leave out of every situation leaves bowlers with few errors.

“I think you should hold your nerve. That is actually what I would say, because I think you have to be so unpredictable that it plays in his hands. He can just stand there and wait for something difficult. But if you are always the same, he has such a good eye, he touches where he wants,” said Wood, as quoted by Sky Sport.

Pant enjoys an excellent record against England and scores 1260 runs in 16 tests on an average of 46.66, including five centuries.

His fearless stroke play against pace has repeatedly restless English bowlers, with his inconscious beating often winding momentum in favor of India.

Wood noted that surprise is the only way to contain pants:

“You have to have a mix to hold your nerve with perhaps the strange ball that is a bit unpredictable, whether it is a slower ball, or you can change with a really high bouncer, or something else.”

In the meantime, panting is excluded from the Asia Cup 2025 after breaking his foot during the recent tour of England. The injury took place when he tried a reverse sweep from Chris Woakes in the Manchester test, with the ball bends on his right ankle.

Pant Retired Hurt Hurt on day 1 but returned the next day to score a fighting half century despite the limping. The 27-year-old was later replaced by Dhruv Jurget as a Wicketkeeper for the rest of the game.
