But Delhi Capitals (DC) are not ready to trade KL Rahul as Kolkata Knight Riders have not made any viable offer. After these rumors died down, newly appointed KKR head coach Abhishek Nayar reportedly went into “fight mode” after CSK reportedly planned to release Rahul Tripathi.

KKR rejects DC’s three-way bid for KL Rahul in high-stakes IPL deal
Well, the IPL trading window has heated up, with both the KKR and DC sides keeping a tight hold on their star players. Talks that started with high expectations have reportedly stalled after Calcutta refused to agree to any of DC’s three proposals.

Delhi has reportedly made several offers in a bid to lure KKR into a deal. The discussions reportedly started with an immediate swap between KL Rahul and Sunil Narine. When that didn’t work, DC tried two-player exchange combos: one with Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Rinku Singh, and another with Harshit Rana and Raghuvanshi.
But KKR has made its position clear. The franchise considers Rinku and Harshit as crucial to their long-term plans and does not want to part with them at any cost.
DC, on the other hand, is still trying to rope in young Raghuvanshi, who is also associated with JSW Sports, and that makes him an attractive addition to their line-up.
Additionally, DC is reportedly close to completing a trade with the Rajasthan Royals for Sanju Samson in exchange for Tristan Stubbs and an unrestricted Indian player. However, this could complicate matters if Rahul’s transaction falls through as both Samson and Rahul are specialist wicketkeepers.
After being dropped as captain by Lucknow Super Giants last season, KL Rahul was bought by Delhi for a hefty ₹14 crore but was not given any leadership duties. However, KKR sees him as a potential captain for the new season but DC’s demands have stalled the move.

On the other hand, Ruturaj Gaikwad-led Chennai Super Kings are reportedly planning a major reshuffle. According to the reports, the franchise is seriously considering releasing several key players including Sam Curran, Deepak Hooda, Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tripathi and Devon Conway.

It is believed that CSK management is focusing on building a younger and more dynamic team for the next season. MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings finished last in the IPL 2025 season. They have failed to qualify for the Playoffs in the last two IPL seasons.
