Former India cricket player Robin Uthappa focused on ex-Australia captain Michael Clarke after a fresh video of the notorious IPL “Slapgate” incident from 2008 between Harbhajan Singh and Sreesanth.
The clip was shown by Lalit Modi on the Clarke podcast, with a controversy that had long been arranged.
At the time, Harbhajan, who represented Mumbai -Indians, hit Sreesanth after a match against Kings Xi Punjab.
The Spinner was exiled for 11 games, later regret and even reconciled with the Pacer. Over the years, both have continued publicly from the episode.
But Uhappa was furious with Clarke because he brought it back almost two decades later. Speaking at the Kim-Appa show with Jarrod Kimber, he asked the motive behind broadcasting the video.
“Slapgate happened in the IPL. What the F *** man? If someone exposed the controversies of Australian cricket, would that be good? Everyone makes mistakes. Do you have the right to have two people re -sought this 20 years later for views?” Said uhappa.
The former batter accused Clarke and modes of double standards and missing empathy, adding that Indian cricketers are repeatedly ashamed, while others escape the investigation.
“You should have empathy for others. Non-brown skins get away with controversies. You can’t treat people as nonsense for views,” Uthappa added.
