Nick Lodolo was brilliant on Thursday afternoon when he dominated the pirates and hit 12 Pittsburgh -strokers on the day while he does not give up a run. But all did not go as planned when he left the game with an injury in the 7th inning. Cincinnati was able to hold a victory, but the Reds eventually needed a huge catch from Noelvi Marte to seal the victory.

The first two innings were quite quiet for both teams on the record. But in the second half of the 3rd inning, the Reds received a lead -off single from Ke’bryan Hayes and a walk from TJ Friedl to set up two men without outs. Cincinnati, however, was unable to get through, while they threw three times a battle and a groundout ended the inning.
Nick Lodolo Rolde and he maintained that when he got 10 strikeouts through the 5th inning. However, the game was still scoreless, because the Reds attack did not do much to their end against Braxton Ashcraft. Ke’bryan Hayes led from the bottom of the 5th with a single and TJ Friedl followed a double in the opening in the right-hand center. Hayes was sent home and was safely mentioned in a Bang-Bang game on the plate. Pittsburgh challenged the call and it was destroyed and the game remained 0-0.
Four thrugs later that was no longer the case when Noelvi Martie hit the middle to place Friedl, and Marte finished second on the pitch to the album. Gavin Lux then came with an RBI single from his own to fill the lead to 2-0 and to send Ashcraft to the showers. Kyle Nicolas came up for the Pirates and got out of the inning without further damage.
Lodolo went back to the hill and added a strikeout in a scoreless 6th inning. When he returned for the 7th, he played Andrew McCutchen to distract things and give him 12 in the game. But on the first throw he threw Tommy Pham, something was not quite good and Jose Trevino called time to go to the hill and the Dugout -Staff came along shortly after and after a discussion, Lodolo was removed from the game.
It was reported shortly thereafter by Jim Day of Fanduel Sports Network that it was a groin -related problem that led Lodolo to leave the game. Even after he had left the game, he stayed in the dugout instead of going to the clubhouse and the trainers’ room. The Reds later stated during the game that the exit was “a precautionary measure with a right groin injury”.
Ashcraft would still come from the 7th inning with Cincinnati with 2-0. Tony Santillan took over in the 8th and would give up a point after Spencer Horwitz was double to start the inning and later scored on a groundout to cut the Reds lead to one point.
After Cincinnati dropped at the bottom of the 8th, Emilio Pagan took the hill for the top of the 9th to face the heart of the Pirates -Line -Up. And the poet received a lot of help from Noevli Marte. A lazy fly from Nick Gonzales started the inning, but then Bryan Reynolds crushed a ball to the right field, but Marte came to the wall and waited before he jumped and Reynolds robbed of what a game-typing home run would have been.
One throw later Andrew McCutchen also flew to Marte – this time it was an easier catch and it put an end to the game.
Important moment of the game
Noelvi Marte Roving a home run in the 9th inning to stop the Reds through a run.
