There is no delay at Keretapi Tanah Melayu’s (KTM) Segamat-Johor Bahru Electrification and Double-Tracking Project (ETDP), said Transport Anthony Loke, according to a report of a report of The star.
“It is inaccurate to say that there is a delay. I even said a few months ago that the project will be completed in phases. The first phase was the opening from Gemas to Segamat in March.
“The second phase will be from Segamat to Kluang, which we are planning to open before August 31,” he told the media after opening the Asean-China International Rail Transit Forum 2025 this morning, adding that the project remains on the rails and that the third phase, Kluang-JB is ready for the year.
However, Loke said that the government is waiting for confirmation of a “very important person” who will get the honor to drive the first ETS train to Kluang when asked when Segamat-Kluang ETS services would start.
