The Milwaukee Brewers want to build a 2-0 series lead on the Chicago Cubs on Monday evening, because they send Aaron Ashby to the hill to be confronted opposite Shota Imanaga on American Family Field.
Ashby, who has mainly worked in a Hulprol in the last two seasons, made a career-high 43 performances (one start) this year, with a period of 66 2/3 innings with a 2.16 ERA and 76 Strikeouts. Ashby, a former pick of the fourth round, has made nine career performances against the Cubs, with an ERA of 5.33 and 33 strikeouts in 27 innings. This season comprises 9 1/3 innings about three performances, in which he spent four points and hit six.
Ashby is likely to be followed (whether it is immediately after or later in the game) by Quinn Priester, who often worked as the “starter” this season after an “opener”. In 29 performances (24 Starts) this year, priest had an ERA of 3.32 and 132 Strikeouts over 157 1/3 innings. Three of those performances (two starts) came across the Cubs, because he spent 10 points over 14 1/3 innings with 11 strikeouts, although seven of those runs appeared a raw 4 1/3 inning blame in May. FWIW, Murphy did not officially confirm if a priest would throw after Ashby.
This year Imanaga threw an ERA of 3.73 with 117 strikeouts over 144 2/3 innings this year, although the Cubs have lost four of the last five games in which he has placed, including Game 2 of the NL Wild Card Series against the Padres. In four career starts against Milwaukee, three of which have come this season, Imanaga is 1-3 with a 5,73 ERA and 18 strikeouts over 22 innings.
Manager Pat Murphy has already announced that he uses the same line -up that he did for game 1, according to Adam McCalvy, which means that Jackson will play Chouio. The status of Chouio was in the air after he had sustained an apparent hamstring injury and left the game early on Saturday, although it was not considered very serious, at least by Chouio himself. He will lead and start left again. Murphy added that Chouio will not be 100% and he will be removed if he shows signs that he is not the task, according to Todd Rosiak.
Behind Chouio is second Honkman Brice Turang, catcher William Contreras and Christian Yelich in dh. Andrew Vaughn Bats Fifth as the first Honkman, followed by Sal Frelick, Caleb Durbin, Blake Perkins and Joey Ortiz.
The first pitch in this is set at 20:08 CT and is broadcast on TBS and HBO Max. As always you can also tailor yourself to the Brewers Radio Network.
