The Calgary Flames have received some good trade offers for Nazem Kadri

Flame nation: Darren Dreger on the Calgary Flames and forward Nazem Kadri. The chances of Kadri being traded have increased, but the Flames will remain patient as the good offers they have already received could get even better.

“But I do think the urge for change is increasing with Nazem Kadri. That doesn’t mean he wants out.

But I think I know there are offers available for the Calgary Flames that are considered good offers. Offers that would do that would make the Flames better.

But in defense of Craig Conroy as general manager, this is why I think he needs a little more time before pulling the trigger. People around Kadri might say, “Okay, those seem like good offers. The interest seems to be quite high.’

But you have Vinnie Trocheck, who we know is available, and the possibility of Ryan O’Reilly coming into play. We’ve been speculating about Ryan O’Reilly for several weeks now, but that doesn’t mean he was or is a real trade target, right? Nashville must determine that, in consultation with O’Reilly. So that’s what teams are waiting for.

So even though the offers are good, if you’re Craig Conroy, and teams are swirling around those two guys, maybe teaming up with Kadri or slightly ahead of Naz, for whatever reason. Don’t know. Why wouldn’t you wait?

I mean, if O’Reilly isn’t available, Nazem Kadri’s expected return probably goes up, and so does the willingness to accept that price. So there may be more of a waiting game. But I do have the feeling that it will happen.”
