The Buffalo Sabers can’t overpay Alex Tuch

Marek: “If you were in Jarmo’s shoes, how would you approach this? For example, Tuch essentially wants the Adrian Kempe contract (eight years, $85 million). That’s probably where he is here. How would you approach this?
Burke: “Well, first of all, you have to average what the guy has done. You can’t take a big year and say that’s what he’s worth. You have to average what he’s done. You have to figure out a body of work, which is a fair rate.”
You can’t pay him too much for one good year. I love Alex Tuch. He has been a good player since he came into the league. But I wouldn’t pay him too much. I don’t think they’re going to do that, I don’t think Jarmo is going to do that.

We’re hearing more rumors about Nazem Kadri, at least this week. So you know, we’ll see where this ends up going. He wants to chase another championship.
Colorado would be a great place. But Dallas and Kadri are very, very interesting to me, to see if this is something that could work between, you know, the Flames and the Stars.
