The Kitchener Rangers recently announced the Dates and schedules for training campWhat will happen on Monday 28 August and Tuesday 29 August. They have around 43 players on the ice in these two scrimmages, about 22 attackers, 14 defenders and seven goalkeepers. These free-to-the-public scrimmages will present a lot of talent, including seven NHL concept choices, and an eighth that will not participate in the skates.
If they don’t get a chance in the NHL, the Rangers will probably expect that these eight players will lead their team this season, and that starts with setting the pace in the training camp. Let’s take a look at these guys with NHL Draft -Steam Tree and discuss the value they can bring to the Rangers this season.
Cameron Reid (D)
The Nashville Predators set up Cameron Reid with the 21st overall choice in the NHL Entry Draft 2025 after 54 points in 60 games in the regular season for the Rangers last season. These 54 points arranged in 10th place among the defenders of Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in the previous season, and 12 goals are ranked between the sixth among defenders.
With Reid selected 21st General, he becomes the highest ranger Drawn up in the NHL since Radek Faksa was set up on the 13th general by the Dallas stars. Reid is an exciting player to view on the blue line. His speed enables him to quickly close gaps on attackers and get involved in attack. He has an exceptional vision of the ice, with his 40 assists last season that ran up for the Rangers. When he is on the ice during the training camp, you will notice his impact of 200 feet.
Jack Pridham (F)
Jack Pridham played his first season last season with the Rangers after he was set up in the third round of the NHL entrance of 2024 by the Chicago Blackhawks. He started the season with the West Kelowna Warriors in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), and after placing 10 points in 12 games, He was taken over by the Rangers. Because he was picked up after the start of the season, he only got 48 games in the regular season. However, he immediately made an impact and closed the season with 27 goals and 54 points, before he added 13 points in 16 Play -off matches.
Pridham has a solid build, stands on 6-foot-1 and combines that size with elite speed, making it difficult to defend, and his powerful shot makes him a threat from everywhere in the attacking zone. Pridham should be to Boston University to play with the terriers in the NCAA. However, he has chosen to play the 2025-26 season with the Rangers if he is not at the Blackhawks from training camp. The speed of Pridham will be what is most striking in the camp, and will put pressure on the younger defenders who are looking for an opportunity to crack the Rangers roster.
Luca Romano (F)
Luca Romano is going in his third season with the Rangers. In his Rookie season he scored 10 goals and was 22 points. He improved both figures last season, scored 25 goals and ended with 51 points. The drastic improvement led it to be set up in the Third round by the New York Islanders.
Outside the point production of Romano it is not shocking that he was in the radars of NHL teams. Romano is an excellent skater and puck handler, so that he can skate pucks out of trouble and create dangerous opportunities of hurry. Together with his skating power, Romano excels in fighting along the shelves. He understands how to use his body to achieve an advantage, even though he is not an important physical presence on the ice. Romano plays the game in the right way; He is responsible for the defense and likes to bring Pucks to the net. He will again be an important piece of the Rangers this season.
Lucas Ellinas (F)
I mentioned one player who has the Rangers who was drawn up, but would not participate in the Rangers’ Training Camp Scrimmages: Lucas Ellinas. It was selected in the fourth round of the NHL input design of 2024 and signed his entry -level contract With the Ottawa Senators in May of this year.
Ellinas was an alternative leader for the Rangers last season and scored 20 goals and amounted to 37 points in 50 games in the regular season. He then raised his game for the Rangers in the Play -offs, scored eight goals and added eight assists in the 14 play -off games he played. Although he will not be at the camp in the camp, Ellinas will again be an impact player for the Rangers if he does not make the schedule of the senators out of the training camp.
Christian Kirsch (G)
The San Jose Sharks set up Christian Kirsch in the fourth round of the NHL entry 2024. He will be new this season in the Rangers after the majority of the 2024-25 campaign with the Green Bay Gamblers in the United States Hockey League (USHL).
The Rangers selected Kirsch with their First choice in the 2025 CHL Import DraftAs he was born in Switzerland and has been playing with their national teams since the level under the age of 16 in 2021-22. In 2025, Kirsch was the starting goalkeeper of Switzerland for the World Junior Championship. He enters the camp when the leader to be the starting goalkeeper of the Rangers this season, with Jackson Parsons who continue to the American Hockey League (AHL). His 6-foot-4 frame takes a tons just away and his elite-edgework makes him incredibly challenging to defeat.
Andrew MacNeil (D)
The Montreal Canadiens set up Andrew MacNeil in the sixth round of the NHL entry 2025. He played parts of two seasons with the Rangers and plays in five regular season and one play-off game in 2023-24. He then played 33 games with the team during the regular season and 13 Playoff matches in 2024-25 before he was set up.
While MacNeil has a limited offensive advantage of the blue line, his excellent stickwork, physicality and 6-foot-2 frame make him an excellent home defender. He excels in killing fines and the disintegration of plays thanks to his high defensive IQ. You will not find him that often on the Stat magazine, but MacNeil does all the little things well. He could be a great candidate to play next to Reid, a more attacking defender.
Christian Humphreys (F)
The Colorado Avalanche selected Christian Humphreys in the seventh round of the NHL deposit 2024. After he was drawn up, Humphreys went to the University of Michigan, where he had trouble finding a role in starting the 2024-25 season. After only 10 games in the NCAA, Humphreys signed at the RangersWhere he ended the rest of last season by scoring 11 goals and achieving 33 points in 28 games in the regular season.

Humphreys is on the smaller side on 5-foot-11. However, he is disruptive on the pre -check, mainly with the help of his stick to strip pucks from defenders. At attack he is cunning, he changes speeds to break down defenders, he has an excellent vision and he easily makes difficult steps. Humphreys’ vision and creativity will make him one of the most striking players in Rangers Camp, and he will have a huge impact throughout the season.
Matthew Hlacar (F)
Matthew Hlacar is a huge attacker. It is 6-foot-3 and weighs 205 pounds. The Toronto Maple Leafs selected him in the Seventh Tour of the NHL input of 2025And after his selection, he went to the Summer Prospect Development Camp of Maple Leafs, where he showed his physicality by winning a fight against Rhett Parsons, a 21-year-old, 6-foot-3, 210 pound prospect.
In 43 games for the Rangers last season, Hlacar only scored seven goals and had one assist. He is not the most attacking gifted player. His size, however, makes him a dominant presence for the net and in Puck fights along the shelves. It may not be in the most traditional way, but the physicality of Hlacar and the chaos that he causes on the ice makes him one of the most striking players in the team.
The Rangers have a lot of talent in training camp
To go along with these eight NHL concept choices, the Rangers will take 12 other players who played matches for the team last season. They will be a veteran team, with a wealth of talent. With another competitive group, the Rangers will be looking for their 100-point season in 2024-25 and want to win their first J. Ross Robertson Cup (OHL Championship) since 2008.
