San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams
The 49ers trust travel veteran recipients: The 49ers fully relied on recent additions to a broad recipient due to injury.
The 49 people were without three of their eight broad recipients from last season. Brandon Aiyuk is on the puppy list and Jacob Cowing and Trent Taylor are on an wounded reserve. Starting recipients Jauan Jennings (ankle, RIB), Ricky Pearsall (knee) and fourth round Rookie Jordan Watkins (Kalf) were all inactive.
San Francisco added Demarcus Robinson early in the low season, knowing that Aiyuk might not be ready at the start of the season. He was suspended for the first three weeks of the season, but mixed as a back -up last week. Most of the broad recipients of the 49 people who are now injured also had to do with injuries during the training camp, so that the team looked at broad recipients elsewhere. The 49ers acted on August 21 for Skyy Moore, Marquez Valdes-Scantling signed to the practice team after the Seattle Seahawks had released him on 28 August (and later on the active schedule on 3 September) and signed Kendrick Bourne after the New England Patriots had published him on September 9. These were the top four broad recipients of the 49 people on the depth card this week.
Bourne and Robinson were the two starting recipients and played the normal amount of snaps for a 49ers who start receiver. Bourne led the Chamber in production, thanks to its three years of experience in catching passes from Mac Jones in New England. Although Bourne has experience playing both outside and in the end, he was primarily an external receiver in this game.
In sets with two recipients, Valdes-Scantling was the backup of Robinson and Moore was Bourne’s backup. Valdes-Scantling was surprisingly the final receiver in sets with three recipients. In week 3, when Pearsall and Bourne were the external recipients, Moore was consistently the third receiver in sets with three receiver about Valdes-Scantling.
While Bourne has set up a great statine, it is best to leave him on the wire of exemption. In the ideal case, George Kittle can all be back next week with some extra rest, Jennings, Pearsall and Tight End. Bourne will be part of the violation, even when those recipients are healthy, but not enough to rely on fantasy purposes. Even if some recipients are not back for week 6, the 49 people also have a rough matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Blake Corum Hardly sees the field: A combination of factors led the rams to get stuck almost completely with Kyren Williams.
Corum’s playing time was slowly but surely on the rise this season. He on average 7.1 meters per Carry in the first three weeks. This led Los Angeles to use a two -man committee during the first three disks last week. Williams surpassed Corum during those three discs and led Williams to return to his usual role for the rest of the game.
Williams played Elke Snap on the first ride and the first seven plays of the second ride, which was normally for him at the start of the season. Corum ran 13 meters before a first down on his first Snap, but then did not correctly go to a Worp by Matthew Stafford during his second game, which led to a turnover. Statistically, the mess was credited to Stafford because Corum never had control of the ball. The 49 people dominated time of possession in the first half, so the Rams only had one ride in half, which went completely to Williams.
In general, when a team plays from behind and has a starter and a backup instead of an early back and a reception of back, they have their starter more than normal. When they have a lead, those teams are usually more willing to use their backup. Williams played the first ride of the second half, which was also normal, and then Corum played more than half of the plays on the next disk. Corum dropped a pass on that ride. The team went with Williams for the rest of the game.
Corum’s hands in this game will probably make it harder for him to fight for more playing time, but he has been explosive with the ball in his hands, including his only play in this game. Williams also dropped a pass and lost a mess in the last two minutes of the game. Corum remains a solid hand buoy for fantasy purposes, and his understanding of this game probably does not mean much in the future, given that both running backs have ball protection problems.

Terrance Ferguson argues for a greater role: Ferguson made a reception of 21 meters before his first NFL catch.
The rams spent a second round pick on Ferguson to be their tight end of the future. Most Rookie tight ends that were drawn up in the first five rounds have already had a considerable role in their violation. From the 10 tight ends selected in the first five rounds, nine caught four or more passes in the first four weeks. Ferguson has been the only exception as the fourth tight end on the depth card of the Rams.
Tyler Higbee led the tight rotation of the Rams this season, followed by Colby Parkinson, Davis Allen and Ferguson. When all four have been healthy, Ferguson has been a healthy inactive. Parkinson’s, however, missed week 2, so Ferguson could be the third tight end and played four snaps. This week Higbee was inactive due to a hip injury.
The rams generally used a rotation per drive at the tight end, led by Parkinson’s. Ferguson played on some, but not all, third downs. He played in the same way most of his snaps on the third downs in week 2. While the work of Ferguson was entirely on an impressive 21-Yard catch, that was a better receiving version than Parkinson’s or all in one of the first four weeks.
It is too early to consider Ferguson to pick up in fantasy competitions, and it is possible that no rams is tight at the end of this season fantasy relevant, but at least there is a chance that Ferguson will be active next week, which would be a good sign for his dynasty value.
Various notes
- Rams wide recipient Tutu Atwell played more attacking snaps for the first time this season than Jordan Whittington. This was possible thanks to his 88-Yard game-winning TouchDown-Vang last week. It is unlikely that a broad receiver can be fantasy relevant this season, unless there is an injury to Puka Nacua or Davante Adams.
- 49ers Brock Purdy was inactive this week due to a toe injury. He did not practice all week. Adrian Martinez was signed this week with the schedule of 53 men as a backup Quarterback.
- 49ers wide receiver Malik Turner was a call-up of the practice team because of various wide reception lesions, but he was not involved in the violation.
- Fourth pride running back Jordan James was a healthy inactive because he has been the entire season.
- Tight end George Kittle has spent the past four weeks on an injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. He is eligible to return next week.
Table notes
- Snaps include plays that are mentioned back because of penalties, including keeping offensive or defensive pass -interference. The other three statistics have removed these plays.
- Goals can differ from official NFL sources. The most likely discrepancy would come from a clear shot pass, whereby the NFL can give the target to the nearest recipient, while this data does not.
- Carries are only on designed plays. Quarterback Scrambles do not count for the total number of Carry’s in the game.
