Week 4 Is almost a wrap, and gambling lines are now available for week 5. Here are our favorite early spread picks for the slate.
San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams (-3 or -3.5) [Total: 47.5]
Many books had the foresight to open this line on 3.5 points, but if you are fast, you may still be able to get this game with a key 3. Anyway, the 3.5-point margin still has a solid chance of going to the rams, given the growing list of injuries on the 49ers sideline and the cover of Los Angeles in the past week.
After dealing with a knee injury during practice this week, 49ers wide recipient Ricky Pearsall came down hard on the sidelines and was eventually forced to close it for the day after he reportedly felt “pain and instability” in his knee. With the 49 people on their way to Los Angeles on a short week, the chance that Pearsall is 100% is small.
On the defensive side, the loss of Nick Bosa left the 49 people seriously lacking the pass. In week 4, the team has only a few pressure in a loss for the Jaguars. If San Francisco cannot generate pressure against Matthew Stafford, he will take them apart. Are 91.5 pff -passing degrees when the non -printed left in second place in the NFL.
The rams are 2-0 against the spread at home this season after they have brought down a strong Colts team with a late comeback. Los Angeles jumped on mistakes by Daniel Jones, which forced him in three turnover plays and got away with a few interception-annes’ first turnover of the year. This defense will have more options to add to his collection numbers, given the 49 people are bound for most sales (eight) in the NFL up to and including week 4.
New York Giants (-1.5) @ New Orleans Saints [Total: 41.5]
The Giants dominated the front of the Los Angeles Chargers with a 56.3% Pass-Rush Win Rate on the way to an upset victory in week 4. Perhaps the most encouraging was Rookie First-rounder Abdul Carter, who achieved an Elite 92.1 PFF general figure. On the attacking side, Rookie Quarterback Jaxson Dart, in his first start, stimulated New York Run game to 4.5 yards per Carry. Although the attack was by no means dominant, it was an encouraging sign for the team. However, the game did not come without costs, while Star -wide receiver Malik Nubers perished with an ACL injury.
The saints hung around in Buffalo in week 4, leaning on the ground match while the team ran almost 150 meters. That will be the way to beat the Giants, who have struggled in Run Defense. But Quarterback Spencer Rattler is also susceptible to bags (10% drop rate), and the front of New York will probably overwhelm his attacking line.
The Giants have a greater chance of winning multiple dimensions with dart and a great defensive front, while the saints have a wrestling quarterback, offensive line and defense. These teams are a layer apart and may not be in a 50-50 game.
