Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Houston Texans

Woody spots Makes a strong push for the runway: Marks surpassed Dameon Pierce on the depth card and the starter could already be next week.

The Texans used Joe Mixon to run back last season, with Dare Ogunbowale playing on passing Downs and Dameon Pierce as the primary backup. Houston set up Marks in the fourth round for the reduction of depth and then drew free agent Nick Chubb to replace the injured Mixon. In week 1, Chubb was the clear starter on Early Downs and took 70% of the early snaps. Ogunbowale remained the third, while Pierce maintained his role as primary backup on Early Downs. Marks played five of the 40 snaps on early downs and two of the 11 snaps during two minutes drilling.

This week Houston shook things up by making Pierce a healthy inactive. Fullback British Brooks was a healthy inactive last week, but was active this week, presumably to play in special teams. This made the clear back -up. Chubb started the game, but Marks received his first Snap on the first ride and took the majority of the snaps on the second ride. The two continued in a rotation on early downs during the first half. In the second half the team went back to Chubb as the primary back, despite the strong play of Marks. Marks were on average more meters per Carry, even after a Chubb 25-Yard Touchdown-Run in the last three minutes, and had a reception of 37 meters. Chubb has only had one reception of 37 or more meters in his career.

Marks now becomes the best distance declaration when declining. He could even be the starter next week, seen how much better he has played this season so far than Chubb. With the situation of uncertainty that Mixon disguised, Marks can be the starter for the rest of the season.

Bucky Irving Continues to see a high snap speed: Irving played more than 72% of the attacking snaps before the second consecutive week after never more than that marking in a match in 2024.

The use between Irving and White was not as black and white as at the end of last season, but Irving’s snap level is on the rise in the first two weeks. He played 75.9% of Snaps last week, including a third-down Snap and most of the two-minute drills. Irving played 19 of the first 20 snaps against the Texans, including the third downs during that period. That included 10 consecutive plays on the second ride of the Buccaneers. White played more to end half, largely to give Irving a break. Tampa Bay played its broad recipients and tight ends in the same way a little more often to end the second disc and to start the third disk. Irving in particular took the two -minute drill to end both the first and the second halves.

Some of the best fantasybacks play more than 80% of the snaps, and Irving has slowly but surely been in that direction.

Various notes

  • The Texans elevated fullback Jakob Johnson to the active schedule for the competition.
  • Texans Broad Recorders Christian Kirk and Braxton Berrios missed their second consecutive games with hamstring injuries.
  • The broad rotation of Houston was initially identical to that of week 1. Nico Collins and Jayden Higgins played most two-receiver sets, while Collins, Hutchinson and Justin Watson played in sets with three. Higgins and Jaylin Noel also rotated for three receiver sets. Collins is the only one who sees enough playing time to be worth considering in Fantasy Start -Line -ups. In the second half, Noel saw the same playing time at Watson in 11 employees.
  • Texanen tight end Gift Stover landed on an injured reserve after leading the tight end space in attacking Snaps last week. Houston added Harrison Bryant from the practice team to the schedule of 53 men to take his place. This left Houston with only two tight ends.
  • The tight final rotation of the Texans was similar to last week, despite the change, in which Dalton Schultz played the most 11-person Snaps and took over Bryant as the primary tight end of 21 people.
  • Tampa Bay continues to use Emeka Egbuka as his best wide receiver. He plays wide and in the lock in both two and three-wide recipient sets.
  • The Buccaneers made the seventh round Rookie Tez Johnson a healthy inactive, giving them five broad recipients this week. Johnson played eight Snaps, mainly in sets with one broad receiver, last week.
  • Ryan Miller served the primary backup for Mike Evans in each of the first two weeks. He scored the first touchdown of the game of the Buccaneers while taking the place of Evans.
  • Buccaneers Rookie that Josh Williams walked back and tightly end Devin Culp were both healthy inactives as the fourth players on the depth card in their positions.

Chris Godwin stays out with a foot injury.

Table notes

Snaps include plays that are mentioned back because of penalties, including keeping offensive or defensive pass -interference. The other three statistics have removed these plays.

Goals can differ from official NFL sources. The most likely discrepancy would come from a clear shot pass, whereby the NFL can give the target to the nearest recipient, while this data does not.

Carries are only on designed plays. Quarterback Scrambles do not count for the total number of Carry’s in the game.
