Man Utd are prioritizing the signing of Chelsea target Kenan Yildiz

Manchester United are reportedly prioritizing the signing of Chelsea player and Juventus star Kenan Yildiz Caught offside.

The Red Devils decided to revamp their front line this summer by signing Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, after letting Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund leave.

United is therefore left with a thin, wide forward department. Since they are not in Europe this season, they may be able to deal with their current options.

However, if they manage to qualify for any European competition next season, Ruben Amorim’s side will need to add depth to the attacking department next summer.

Now, Caught offside claim Man Utd are prioritizing signing Yildiz next year as they are a ‘big fan’ of him. However, the purchase of the Turkish international will not be easy for the Old Trafford club, as Chelsea and Arsenal are also keen on him.

United plan to beat the Blues and Gunners in this race by making a bid of as much as £78m, with his existing deal running until 2029.

Ildiz to Man Utd

Yildiz has established himself as a key player in Juventus’ starting XI, so they don’t want to part with him and are willing to keep hold of him by tying him down to a new term.

The 20-year-old has given no indication that he wants to leave the Allianz Stadium; However, the lure of the Premier League could help United, Chelsea or Arsenal persuade him to join.

Chelsea strengthened their wide attacking position by buying Garnacho and Jamie Gittens this summer. However, they are still very young and need time to develop. Maresca currently lacks proven options on the flanks. So buying a new winger could be the right decision.

Yildiz is off to a great start to this season and if he continues to perform at this level throughout the season, signing him would be the right decision for United or Chelsea.

Still, it will be interesting to see whether the Old Trafford club or the West London club ultimately manage to secure his services in January or next summer.
