Looking at these Premier League matches on Thursday in this round.
Watch the other matches from Newcastle United’s perspective.
Eddie Howe and his players achieve that crucial victory at Burnley.
That was one of the six games in the Premier League last Tuesday.
Now on Thursday, as a Newcastle United fan, take a look at the four remaining Premier League games this week and think about what you would like to happen and what is likely in terms of results.
My conclusions and predictions for Thursday’s matches
Crystal Palace vs Fulham (5.30pm)
This is a strange round in the Premier League as it is the reverse of the round less than four weeks ago.
On December 7, 2025, the Fulham 1 Palace 2 match ended.
Since that match, the two teams have gone in very different directions.
Fulham have won all three of their Premier League games and the only game they have lost in the last three and a half weeks was against Newcastle in the League Cup quarter-finals.
While Palace have lost their last four games in all competitions, including all three in the Premier League.
With so many games to play and so many players missing, I can see Palace losing to Fulham here, which will hopefully dent their morale even further before they come to St James’ Park on Sunday.
Liverpool v Leeds (5.30pm)
Since these two teams drew 3-3 at Elland Road last month, Liverpool have won all three of their PL matches.
However, the most recent two were against Spurs’ 9 men and then against Wolves’ bottom line. The scousers were lucky to win both games by a single goal and were still not very convincing, regardless of what their comrades in the media say.
After losing six of their seven PL matches, Leeds have managed to build a five-match unbeaten run, although three of them were drawn.
I know Liverpool will be seen as overwhelming favourites, but it won’t be a surprise if Leeds get a point here.
Brentford v Spurs (8 p.m.)
Spurs recorded a 1-0 win in their last match at struggling Palace.
Before that, Spurs played just one of their last eight PL games, 2-0 at home to Brentford.
Keith Andrews continues to do a great job for the Bees and they have won two and drawn one of their three PL games since the defeat to Spurs.
As we all know, Brentford are usually a much better team at home and have won four of their last PL home games and drawn the others.
I’m totally backing Brentford to win this one.
Sunderland v Man City (8 p.m.)
Man City have won eight of their last nine Premier League matches, including a 3-0 defeat to Sunderland just over three weeks ago.
The odd one out was Newcastle United beating Man City 2-1.
The Mackems are limping along a bit now, having won just one of their last five.
My money is on a dominant away win for Man City here.
