Brooklyn will have more than just two Israelis on the floor in Barclays Center this season.
The nets – who have drawn up Israeli citizens Ben Saraf and Danny Wolf in the first round – will now organize a presentation match against Hapoel Jerusalem on 4 October.
The news was first reported by Basketball News Australia.
It is not the first time that the nets will organize an Israeli team and play an exhibition match against Maccabi Ra’ananana in the 2023-24 in the preseason.
But this one can be a little different.
The nets selected Saraf with the 26th pick in the June design and then took the Israeli American big man Wolf minutes later at number 27.
It was the first time that Jewish players ever were chosen by one team in the same round, and they will only be the second Israeli teammates in the competition after Sacramento’s Jordan Farmar and Omri Caspi in 2016.
Now the news is amid the current Israeli offensive in Gaza in response to Hamas’ 7 October, and with a conference-led conference this week in the United Nations calling for a re-promotion of the two-state solution.
Brooklyn will also be confronted with the Suns in two pre -season games in Macao on 10 and 12 October, in the return of the NBA to China for the first time since 2019.
