‘National Pride’: Iran says it will not stop nuclear enrichment for European conversations

Iran does not intend to leave his nuclear program, including uranium enrichment, despite the “serious” damage caused by strikes of the United States to his facilities, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country said prior to renewed conversations with European powers.
Iran is planned to meet the United Kingdom and Germany in Istanbul on Friday to discuss its nuclear program, accusing Iran European countries of scupping a historic nuclear deal 2015.
Before the conflict, Iran and the US kept five rounds of nuclear conversations mediated by Oman, but could not agree on the extent to which Iran Uranium was allowed to enrich.

Israel and the US say that Iran almost enriched to levels that would enable it to quickly produce a nuclear weapon, while Iran says that the enrichment program is only for civil purposes.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told the special report from Fox News with Bret Baier on Tuesday Aest: “It is stopped because, yes, damage is serious and serious. But it is clear that we cannot give up the enrichment because it is a performance of our own scientists.”
“And now, more than that, it’s a matter of national pride,” he said.
US President Donald Trump responded to the comments on his Truth Social platform, and said that the US would again perform strikes “if necessary”.
The 2015 agreement, reached between Iran and the Security Council of the United Nations Security, Permanent Members – VK, China, France, Russia and the US – Plus Germany, imposed curbs on Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for exemption from sanctions.
But it unraveled in 2018 when the US, during the first term of Trump, unilaterally and re -imposed sanctions.
Although Europe promised constant support, a mechanism was intended to compensate for American sanctions, which has never been released effectively, forcing many Western companies to leave Iran and to deepen the economic crisis.

“Iran holds the European parties responsible for negligence in the implementation of the agreement,” said spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs prior to Friday in Istanbul about the future of the deal.

Iran will also organize a trilateral meeting with representatives from China and Russia on Tuesday to discuss the nuclear issue and possible sanctions.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that China “would continue to play a constructive role in pushing relevant parties to restart the dialogue and negotiations and to reach a solution that takes into account the legitimate concerns of all parties”.
In recent weeks, the three European powers have threatened to reset international sanctions against Iran, so that it is accused of violating his nuclear obligations.

Germany said that the Istanbul interviews at expert level would be, where the European trio or E3 would work “flat” to find a sustainable and verifiable diplomatic solution.

“If no solution is reached at the end of August … the Snapback will also remain an option for the E3,” said the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Martin Giese.
A clause in the 2015 agreement makes it possible to re-imposed UN sanctions on Iran via a “Snapback” mechanism in the case of non-compliance.

But the agreement expires in October, leaving a tight deadline behind.

‘Not the intention to talk to America’

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the nuclear watchdog of the UN, says that Iran is the only non-nuclear arming country that is currently enriched uranium to 60 percent beer past 3.67 percent caps set by the Accord 2015.
That is a short step of the 90 percent enrichment that is needed for a nuclear weapon.
The use of the Snapback clause was “meaningless, not to be justified and immoral,” Baqaei told a press conference, with the argument that Iran recently started to distance itself from the agreement in response to Western non-compliance.
“Iran’s reduction in his commitments was carried out in accordance with the provisions described in the agreement,” he said.
“At this stage we are not going to talk to America.”
Iran is a party to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, while Israel is not. The IAEA says that it has “not a credible indication” of an active, coordinated weapon program in Iran. Iran retains its nuclear program exclusively intended for civil purposes.
Israel is the only country in the middle -east that it is believed to have nuclear weapons and said that the attack on Iran was aimed at preventing Iran to develop its own nuclear weapons.
