UFC Nashville Fight Night and BKFC

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) remains the undisputed king of MMA. The Fighting League regularly puts cards in different cities and affects all top cities such as Las Vegas, Chicago and more. It even has international events, especially with the Saudi connections of the parent company TKO.

The most recent UFC event went in Nashville, TN, and could not have been greater success. The event was absolutely full and the fans were treated to a show. Let us discuss the newest card and why Tennessee earns more than earning another UFC event in the future.

UFC Nashville

The main map was full of action from start to finish. The English hunter Tuco Tokkos started the night with a little upset and served the favorite Junior Tafa in the second round of their opening match.

Heavy favorite Vetor Petrino won in the first round of his fight against Austen Lane and won through the rear naked choke to improve to 12-2-0 as a professional. The Frenchman Morgan Carriere finished Ahe Landwehr in a promising featherweight competition and won via TKO in the third and final round.

Without a doubt, however, the most important event between heavyweights Derrick Lewis and Tallison Teixeira Delivered on the hype. Although it all took from 0:35, Lewis – the extensive Underdog – scored the interruption and sent the crowd in a frenzy. It may be enough to conflict Lewis again for a heavyweight title shot in the future.

Why Tennessee earns another UFC card

If the success of the most recent UFC card from Nashville was not enough to seduce UFC promoters to come back to the city, there are a few reasons that are worth considering.

Rabbin fan base

This is far from the only event that is held in the Bridgestone Arena of Nashville. In fact, this recent map is the eighth in the state of Tennessee. Have only been held one in the now mentioned Bridgestone Arena, with the only exception as UFC 107: Penn vs. Sanchez in December 2009. That event was held on the Fedexforum.

Although cards in 2012 and 2015 each brought around 7,000 fans, the crowds have continued to grow. UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs. Lobov brought in more than 10,000 fans, while the last two events are each present for the presence above 17,000 fans.

That shows that the market is growing in Tennessee. With a prominent fighting card it cannot be said what the rise the UFC could collect in a return visit to Nashville.

A great sports city

What is not spoken about is what kind of sports city Nashville is. Tennessee as a whole is very passionate about his sports. We can mainly see it in the sports programs of the college such as the University of Tennessee, where the volunteers are almost cult-like in popularity.

Nashville has teams in all sports and levels of competition. The Nashville Predators, Tennessee Titans, Memphis Grizzlies, a litany of Minor League baseball teams and various other clubs make their home in the state. It shows how dedicated fans are that they can support so many teams.

Budding destination

Perhaps the most attractive factor for an organization such as the UFC is the destination that Nashville has become. Although it is certainly known for having a fantastic sports scene, more and more tourists are coming to Nashville because of the accommodations that it can offer.

Nashville has become known as a party city thanks to the nightlife that it has to offer. In a landscape where large sporting events are held at tourist destinations, it can be attractive for the UFC to bring a large map to a place like Nashville, where people from all over the world are in the city for a visit.

UFC cards are currently their own attractions, but to sell a location of nearly 20,000 seats such as Bridgestone Arena, it doesn’t hurt to let people from all over the world enjoy flows to the city with pleasure. UFC can offer the kind of experience that completely compliments Nashville’s nightlife.

A vorcular fan base corresponds to success for UFC

At the end of the day, the goal of the UFC is when it goes to a city to let the fans enthusiastic. Selling the event is clearly fun, but knowing that there is a potentially glory fan base to come back, is something the organization strives for.

Fans came into force for the UFC Nashville event. The crowd was hot, the card turned out to be good and it felt like a home run from one night before the organization. Tennessee is the type of place that the UFC appreciates. Whether it is enough to draw another card or a pay-per-view event is still seen.
