The Proteas bowled out Pakistan for 378 in their first innings to end Day 2 with 216-6 at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Salman (52*) and Rizwan (62*) took Pakistan to 313-5 on day 1.

They continued to add runs to their total and their partnership grew to 153.

But that was the highlight for the hosts in the first session, as South Africa fought back with the ball.

With 362 on the board, Senuran Muthasamy got the first wicket of the day for the Proteas. He found Rizwan’s edge at the Keeper.

A few balls later he bowled Noman Ali and the ball then removed Sajid Khan, finding himself slipping. Pakistan were now 362-8.

This brought up his first Test 5-for.

Muthusamy then orchestrated the punching of Shaheen Afridi, and Pakistan were 378-9.

He ended with 6-117.

Salman went for a big shot and was caught on the boundary, bowled out for 93, Prenelan Subrayen got his 2nd.

Pakistan were all out for 378.

South Africa survived until lunch with 10-0 on the board.

SA put on 45 when they lost their first wicket, Markram looping to the keeper. Noman Ali was the wicket taker.

He struck again, dismissing Wiaan Mulder for 17. SA were reduced to 80-2.

South Africa went into tea at 112-2.

Ryan Rickelton scored 71 off 137 balls before taking Agha Salman to first slip.

SA was now 174-3.

Tristan Stubbs was next to go, finding a slight edge over the keeper for Noman’s third. Soon after, Brevis guided the ball to midwicket off Sajid Khan’s bowling. SA were 193-5.

Kyle Verreynne (2) was the next to be fired. SA now found themselves in trouble at 200-6.

The day ended with SA at 216-6.

The Zorzi was at 81* and Muthusamy at 6*.

The Proteas route of 162 runs.
