David Moyes was mixed by a few “really strange” decisions during the 2-1 defeat of Everton against Liverpool in Anfield on Saturday.
Ryan Gravenberch brought the Reds early in the foreground with a great goal before he made the second for Hugo Ekitike, who skillfully found the top left corner with a angular finish along Jordan Pickford.
As usual this season, Liverpool allowed the opposition to return to the game while giving a lead of two goals while Idrissa Gana Gueye shot a shot past Alisson Becker in the 58th minute.
The men of Arne Slot no longer needed late heroic deeds to win the Merseyside Derby, although they managed to hold all three points to stay at the top of the Premier League table.
Moyes was dissatisfied with how the game was officially by referee Darren England, and mainly took a problem with the booking of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for the too fast in the second half and added only three minutes for stopping the end.
“We have been here so often and I don’t want to sound like an old fart who says the same things, but I thought three minutes was great at the end of the second half,” he told TNT Sports.
“We wanted to play quickly, I saw many teams score of fast free kick, but we couldn’t do anything quickly because we always had to wait for the referees’ whistle.
“I found some of the decisions very strange. We are used to it and everyone is aware of that.”
When asked about the yellow map of Dewsbury-Hall, Moyes told the BBC match of the day: “The bigger thing is that the game seemed to be controlled by the referee, we couldn’t start anything quickly. We couldn’t play.
“He never allowed us to get the game going quickly if we wanted. I thought it was strange that there was only three minutes [of stoppage time]. If Liverpool was 2-0 lower, I am not sure if three minutes would have been set up. ‘
Jack Grealisk was shown a yellow card after the full -time whistle for complaining about the booking of his teammate. The loan from Manchester City was just as perplexed due to the lack of extra time in both halves, and was not aware that he was carded until he was informed by the BBC.
‘I had something like’ what are you doing? ‘We lose, we want to get the ball back in the game and he gives him a yellow card.
‘And where do you get three minutes [of stoppage time] From and one minute in the first half? I have never heard of that either. Come on. It is usually four or five minutes. It is what it is and we will continue. I didn’t even know he gave me a yellow, that’s news for me.
