Months after its debut in Malaysia’s kapchai market, rumors of the Modenas Z15GT supercub emerged. Among these, there would be an automatic clutch variant of the Z15GT.
This was confirmed by Roslan Raskan, CEO of Modenas, during a media visit to the Modenas factory in Gurun, Kedah. Roslan explained that there are plans to expand the Z15GT model range early in the product development cycle, including an automatic clutch, with the aim of launching it in the Malaysian market early next year.
Responses from the research and development department indicated that the entire system required further study, including determining whether the gearbox should be a four- or five-speed gearbox. The process of installing an automatic clutch involves replacing the entire manual clutch assembly and producing a new engine clutch cover, which requires a new mold.

Modenas expects that the introduction of the auto-clutch version of the Z15GT will attract more customers, especially those who consider the Z15GT as daily transportation. Currently, the Z15GT has gained wide acceptance in the Malaysian market, especially in Kedah and Selangor.
Priced at RM8,288, the Modenas Z15GT was launched in Malaysia in October 2025. Powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 149.5 cc mill, the Z15GT produces 16.76 hp at 9,500 rpm, with 13.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, which goes to the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox with manual clutch and chain final drive.
