The Reds resume their Champions League campaign with a second visit to Rams Park in the space of six months, as they hope to avenge their defeat to Okan Buruk’s side last September when the teams met again in the first leg of the round of 16.

There were no new injury concerns to report during LFC’s open training on Monday morning before they later flew to Turkey, a welcome development for the Merseyside outfit.

Salah and Slot are both on their way to achieving personal milestones

Tuesday’s match will be Slot’s 100th competition match as head coach of Liverpool, with the Dutchman potentially breaking Sir Kenny Dalglish’s record of 62 wins from his first century of games in the Anfield dugout.

Meanwhile, according to Air sportsSalah could claim two more personal milestones tomorrow by playing against Galatasaray full-time.

The Egyptian will take the outright record for most European Cup/Champions League appearances for LFC when he plays at Rams Park – he is currently tied with Jamie Carragher on 80 – and he needs just one more goal to become the first African player to reach 50 in Europe’s premier club competition.

Impressive performances for Slot and Salah despite their difficult season

Although Slot faced some criticism for his job at Liverpool during a hugely disappointing season, it is a testament to how well he has done overall that he was able to set the record for most wins in the first 100 games of any Reds manager/head coach.

That he has surpassed legendary figures such as Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley and Jurgen Klopp in that regard should not be dismissed, even if the Dutchman has been subject to legitimate criticism for performances and results this season.

The same goes for Salah, who may be having his least productive season at Anfield but is still nothing short of a peer when it comes to his time at LFC in general.

Even in an era where there are many more European games than in the pre-1992 knockout format, to surpass 80 Champions League games for Liverpool is an impressive achievement and has been a big reason why we have consistently qualified for that competition over the past decade.

How many more times he will don the famous red shirt in Europe remains to be seen, but hopefully that number will increase by seven between now and the end of May!
