After another dramatic weekend of Premier League action, it’s time to throw off the shackles of reality and check in with our fantasy league.
Aston Villa secured three points again thanks to a comeback win against Tottenham Hotspur. Manchester United defeated Liverpool. A whole host of teams declined or seized the opportunity to briefly grab top spot before Arsenal made it all academic by winning in Saturday’s late game.
There was a hat-trick and the most selected player in the Fantasy Premier League scored a few to remain the highest scorer in 2025/26.
Let’s take a look at the thrills and spills.
Aston Villa FPL top scorers in GW8
There are no surprises this week. Villa’s top scorers in the FPL were Morgan Rogers and Emi Buendía, the players who scored the goals in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Spurs.
They collected seven points each while Lucas Digne picked up five points thanks to a stunning assist for the winning goal. Amadou Onana is the only other Villa player to have claimed more than two points.
That will be a small bonus for the 0.6% of FPL players who selected him for GW8, but the even smaller number of Buendía loyalists are the ones laughing their asses off this week.
Ezri Konsa remains Villa’s most selected player. He was on 9.6% of the teams in GW8.
